End of the School Year

Remember when you were in school and you would count down the days until summer vacation and get really anxious and excited??? Well that is how every year feels when you are a teacher! We are just as excited for the summer as the students and we probably need the break more than them :) This year was super busy, stressful, exciting, and successful school year. Some of my closest students are graduating next week and I am excited for what is to come for them, but I am also going to miss them. We had a farewell dinner and our last class together. They all wrote wonderful essays about how DECA has changed their lives and what they plan to do in the future. One of my state officers wrote, "Thank you Mrs. Ketchledge for all that you have done for me, you do not even know how much of an impact you have had on my life." This means more to me than anything they could have given me, but of course my present was fun too. They got a me a Pandora bracelet!!! I've been wanting one for so long so I was super excited. They also got me a suitcase charm, which was perfect to represent all of our trips together. They told the underclassmen that they had to get me a new charm every year and keep the tradition going! I love them all and congratulations to the class of 2011 :)
