Play Dates and First Bath!

Tuesday we had a play date at Macarthur Mall with RJ and Rylee. We love playing at the play places at Macarthur and Lynnhaven because they are gated in and everything is soft and safe so Izabel can run around and have a great time without having to get me to help her do everything and I can watch her play while taking care of Tanner! Izabel had a blast and she even had a cute little boy following her around, RJ didn't seem to mind!

Wednesday Tanner was three weeks old and his cord stump finally fell off! It was about time! He finally got to have a real bath and he still wasn't a fan of being wet. We thought he would like it better than sponge baths but I guess he'll have to grow into it!

Thursday we played at the mall again because I had some returns to make before it was May and too late! A bigger boy knocked Izabel off the slide but other than that she had a great time again!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

18 Month Well Check and Other Updates

Monday afternoon we had Izabel's 18 month well check. She is almost 19 months but with Tanner being born we wanted to schedule Izabel out a little further so I would be well enough to take her. She now weighs 22 lbs and is 31 inches long. That keeps her in the same percentiles as before (20th for weight and 50th for height) which means she is growing appropriately but still small. Dr. Scott was impressed that she knows most of the body parts and a ton of animal sounds. He wasn't concerned that she isn't really talking because she is babbling so much. He says kids that do that end up to be excellent talkers and very smart! He was also impressed that she used the potty! She didn't have to get any shots this time and she doesn't have to go back until she is two!!! I can't believe it. Of course now that we are done with the constant well checks for her we start going in all the time for Tanner! It's a good thing we like Dr. Scott!

In other news Tanner is 3 weeks old today and his cord stump FINALLY fell off. I can't believe it took this long. I can't wait to give him a bath tonight. He hated the sponge baths because he would get so cold but I hope he likes real baths. He actually had a really good night last night and slept in his crib between two feedings! It made a big difference in my day. I'm still having a hard time adjusting and I don't have much help now that Noah is working all the time but I'll survive. I'll be able to handle it better once I start getting more sleep!

Izabel is suffering from a pretty yucky cold today. I thought it was just allergies at first. It started with a nasty cough at night and in the morning. Today her nose is running and she has a fever. I've been trying to keep her away from Tanner as much as possible while still comforting her while she doesn't feel good but it's not easy!

Last but not least...Noah DID NOT go to poker last night! Enough said!!!

A Few Updates, Pics, and Exciting News!

Well since my last post I have been getting around a lot better and doing a lot more around here. Noah's mom stayed until last Friday and Izabel had a great time getting so much attention and having someone to play with. They went on walks and to the park everyday and Izabel was very sad when she left. Tanner is growing and we are starting to get into more of a routine with nursing. The nights aren't always good but they could be a lot worse. I think I've just gotten used to being completely exhausted so I'm still able to function. I'm still having pain at my incision site but it comes and goes and it is tolerable. Hopefully that will be gone soon!

Noah was home with us Friday and Saturday. We managed to get Tanner's name hung up in his room and the double stroller was put together. We tried to go the park a couple times but it's so hot here and the slides were steaming so we didn't get to stay long. We got ice cream from the ice cream man and sat on the porch which Izabel thought was fun. Then we had dinner on the back porch and she made the biggest mess with her ravioli.

We pulled out Izabel's new potty chair and put it in the bathroom Saturday night. She always goes potty with me so we wanted to start introducing the chair but we weren't expecting anything. She sat on it and that was about it. Sunday Noah and I got to get away to a movie. We had free tickets that expired at the end of April so we wanted to make sure we got to use them. We saw Fast and Furious and really liked it! It was nice to get away but I think I would have rather slept for two hours! When we got home my parents said IZABEL WENT PEE PEE ON THE POTTY!!!!!!! They thought she had already done it for us and it wasn't a big deal but of course this was the first time so we were super excited. We all cheered and jumped around and she couldn't contain her excitement after seeing ours!

Still hanging out

Today was my first official day on my own with both of them. Yesterday Noah went back to work but my sister was here so that didn't really count. We went for a walk and hung out and we've done pretty well. My mom stopped by for a little while and I grabbed a shower while she was here. Everyday it will get easier but I'm really happy with how well everything is going already!
