Happy Anniversary To Us!

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary! In some ways it seems like it was just yesterday and in other ways it seems like a lifetime! We've been through a lot in these four years. We've both started new jobs, bought a house and had two kids, but we've done it all together and we're very happy!

When I got in the car this morning to go to work there was a card and some of my favorite candy on the seat. Then when I turned the car on I heard the first song on the new Rob Thomas CD and realized it was in the CD player! It was really sweet and I was so excited. It was a great way to start off my day. I got Noah a new game, some his favorite candy and a massage! To celebrate we headed out to dinner after we both got home from work. My parents came over to watch the kids so we could have some alone time. It was a great day even though we both had to work. Life is sure different now but we love it and we love each other more everyday!

In honor of our 4 years of marriage and almost 6 years together I thought I'd post some pictures of us through the years!

Tanner's 4 Month Well Check

Yesterday I took Tanner to see Dr. Scott for his 4 month well check. He is 16 lbs 9 oz (75th percentile) and 26 inches (90th percentile). He's still gaining as he should be but he has dropped some in the percentile for his weight so that is good for him. He's doing really well on the formula and Dr. Scott said everything looked perfect. Tanner was just watching him and smiling the whole time (until the shots of course). He has some cradle cap that I have been working on but other than that he is happy and healthy and developing exactly like he should be. Dr. Scott was really happy with Tanner's head control, rolling over and how long is he sleeping!

He took one oral vaccine and then got two shots with a couple different vaccines in them. The nurse did it by herself so she stuck him two different times instead of doing both at once. I wasn't happy about that but Tanner calmed down after a minute and I brought a bottle for him so he was fine. He was a little fussy in the evening and didn't sleep too well but that's to be expected sometimes!

Dr. Scott said we could start on solids whenever we are ready. He knows I prefer to wait until Tanner is closer to the 6 month mark but we still talked about starting with rice cereal for a week or two and then moving to vegetables and then fruits and doing each different one for a couple days before moving on to a new one. It wasn't that long ago that we did all of this with Izzy so we're pretty comfortable with making the transition and we will probably start with the cereal in a few more weeks. Earth's Best baby food (our favorite organic jar food) was on sale at Babies R Us yesterday so I did start stocking up on the level one fruits and veggies!

Even though the appointment was for Tanner we talked a little bit about Izzy. I told him about her hitting and he said it probably had more to do with having a new baby at home than any stranger anxiety. He said we should reprimand her for it but try to really praise her when she goes to a play date and doesn't hit. I'm still waiting for that to happen! He's hopeful that it will pass before her 2 year visit. He said that she won't grow up to be a bully but it probably means that she will be a girl who sticks up for herself which is a good thing!

It was a good check up and we'll be back to see Dr. Scott again towards the end of October!

A New Milestone and Weekend Updates

This weekend was pretty laid back. Friday we planned to go to WOW at the botanical gardens but the weather looked pretty yucky so we just stayed at home. Turned out to be a good choice because it started pouring mid-morning and continued the rest of the day. Saturday we thought about going to WOW again but it still looked really overcast so we went to BJs to get some groceries instead. We went home for a quick nap and then headed out to Uncle Ray's birthday party! It was at his sister Kim's house. Kim has 4 kids and some of Ray's friends have kids so there were plenty of people for Izzy to play with. Of course she did her fair share of hitting as we are still battling that problem, but she had a good time. Then Saturday night I went to Guadalajara with Courtney and Candace for a couple drinks. We had a great time but I hadn't been feeling well all day and through the night and Sunday morning I felt terrible. Noah had already planned to take the day off (he was trying to convince me to let him go to Atlantic City again) so he stayed home so I could stay in bed for a little. I didn't actually get any extra sleep since I had been up all night but at least I didn't have to get up and stay up! Later in the afternoon Noah and I went to Cinema Cafe and finally saw Transformers 2. I really liked it although I did not like the Greenbrier Cinema Cafe. We came home and played with Izzy and Tanner, had dinner, did baths and headed to bed after cleaning up some. Now it is back to work for another long week! I'm back to regular hours which means no more Fridays off :( Oh well, we can still play and do fun things in the afternoons!
(Sorry I don't have any pics from this weekend, but for some reason I never managed to grab the camera!!!)

Milestone Update: Saturday morning Tanner was laying on his playmat and he ROLLED OVER! He's been rolling onto his side for a long time and I often find him that way in his crib but this was the first time he made it from flat on his back all the way to his stomach. He wasn't upset on his stomach either. He had to work a while to get his arm out from under him and push himself up but once he got there he was happy for a little while until he got tired! He has his 4 month appointment tomorrow and I can't wait to see how big he has gotten!!!
